Default one or two piece main seal?

i know 85 and up is a one piece main seal and 84 and below is two piece. but how can i tell by looking at the block? does anyone have pictures of the different blocks?

83 and up are one piece. Look at the side of the block above the starter and see what the casting numbers are.

in the 83's you can either have one piece or two above that is one piece just go to napa or a parts store and tell them you need a rear main and see what they give you or offer different ones but it is supposed to be one piece

is that the same for a 351w my casting number is E4AE-6015-FA 18
so that would make my block an 84 right?

i have a engine building book here that says 85 and up for one peice seal is it a misprint?

i wish i could tell by just looking at the block, but i don't know what to look for.
