Easy now I think mustang maniac knows hes wrong now. But yes make sure you get the other K member. Your going to need a transmission unless its a V6 car. The 3.8L V6 trans has the same bellhousing bolt pattern but you will need to change the input shaft because it will not be the right size. Also the trans will prolly be a little weak for the 5.0

That's all I hear. The trans will probably be weak. Whats the difference in a v6 and v8? They're both T-5 ain't they?

as far as i know they are just geared differently. the v6 is gonna be geared up to make it easier to move with less power. and by as far as i know i mean internal differences. i know the input etc is different. i dont know if they used crappier metal or what but i figure it'll be fine. it may just be assumption that cause it came from a weak car its weak as well. i could be wrong there dont quote me on that

The V6 tranny input shaft (may not be) and belhousing are not 5.0 compatable, you need a specific 94/95 5.0 T-5 transmission, and or a TKO 500/600, or T-56 transmission for a 5.0, however both the TKO and T-56 will require minor mods here or there to make them fit the 5.0.

Serriously, you're getting in over your head, it's much cheaper, and efficient to buy a 94/95 5.0 and go from there than to convert a V6 to a 5.0, there are just so many parts that need to be changed, and if you're not building the engine while you're at it, then you're really just wasting your time, the 215 bhp 5.0 isn't exactly a thrill provider.

Here's the minimum you'll need:
5.0 Engine w/ wiring harness
94/95 5.0 ECU for a manual
94/95 T-5 Tranny (or other)
8.8" rear end
94/95 5.0 Shocks/Struts/Springs
All new 5.0 radiator hoses
94/95 Motor Mounts

There are also other small nick nack parts you'll need, but you're gonna have to run into those issues as you go, hense why you need a donor car.

^^^ yep.... in the long run it will be cheaper and WAY less of a headache to just buy a good running 94-95. only reason i would put a 5.0 in a 96+ is if i wanted to do somethin crazy like make it obd 2 like the exploder lol. wich i would like to do sometime if i just happen to have a 4.6 sn roller fall into my lap. even if it falis to be any good, i thought it would just be a interesting project

he can use a 87-93 bell housing with the 302 cant he might have wove the mounts back an inch to make up for the shaft depth iirc

My apologies for some reason I was thinking about the automatic trans instead of the T-5

94-04 mustang v6 T5's are the same EXACT box as the 94-95 GT units

the ONLY difference, is the 96+ units went to a electronic speedo pickup... which can probably be swapped for the gears
