Want to bypass smog pump... any issues?
So i want to use a short belt to bypass my smog pump.
I have to keep all OEM smog stuff on, as the car still has to pass emmissions. But ive heard that you can add a little power from bypassing the smog pump, and it would save me the troble of the smog pump locking up from getting used so much.
sence i still have all emmission's equipment on the car, will anything be effected badly by the smog pump being bypassed?
im not sure how the system works completely, but id hate to hurt some part's or lose performance from this.
thanks

Once i finish my exhaust setup today im going to do the smog pump bypass. In the interest of time i decided not to do the full delete yet... so i will let you know if anything weird happens. I have a 73 inch belt and im just going to bypass the pump.

the tensioner on a fox sits between the alt and a/c, and neither of those two are being moved. So the tensioner will not be affected in any way!
keep your BS info to yourself.
I've put about 17k miles on a shortbelt setup in my car and never ONCE had the belt break.
Now im running an even SHORTER belt (read: 44.5") and STILL havent had any issues!
