Anyone ever have PTV issues with Comp XE270?

Degree that cam.... "straight up" could be anywhere from 4 degrees advanced to 4 retarded from the camshaft specs. I suggest that before you start looking for possible solutions, to ID what is really causing such a strange case....

yea you need to degree the cam. i have the same exact cam as you except mine is xe270hr-14. i havent gotten my heads done yet so i havent got to check ptv yet. i put im going to have more issue than you becaue of my combo.
however i did just work on a friends car with the same cam but his is a 347 stroker, so i installed it straight up and down, checked the specs and just so happened dot to dot matched the cam card specs. checked ptv, that was good. so no worries with that build.

If you have the exhaust valves touching the pistons, looks like there's something else besides the cam itself causing that problem. That cam has the exhaust tappets @.050" lift at 6° BTDC (114 LSA version) or 4° BTDC (112 LSA version), piston reaching TDC and valve lift diminishing. As a simple comparison the E-303 has a tappet lift of .050" at 0° or TDC..... IOW, tappet lift at 6° or 4° BTDC will be higher for the E-303..... likewise ATDC.
Again, strongly suggest you check that cam timing..... before you end up spending money in a procedure that could hide a bigger snafu condition. LUK
