Default Transmission Issue?

Well I was trying to get the crank pulley off of the car and I decided to go through all the gear, with the car off, just to get a feel for how far the throws are. well everything thing was going smoothly till I hit 5th gear. I noticed it really wouldnt go in and lock. A simple tap or touch would knock it out back into Neutral.

is there a major problem or am I crazy?

you mean loosen the bolt? you can either hold the belt or if its really tight jam a screwdriver against the flywheel via inspection hole.

if you mean to pull it off you will need a balancer puller.

I have to do both. I need to replace my timing cover. After that I will finally be able to crank her up! After everything is back on of course.

so the engines out? prybar between the flywheel bolts will do the trick. dont use a finger puller and pull the outside of the balancer. it will ruin it.
