Default Supercharged-Elbow vs. Upper Intake manifold?

I was just wondering what the difference was with using a supercharged application. I know with an elbow it obviously decreases your intake length with changes your torque curve. Is there any other reasons for one or the other besides changing your torque curve for what you are trying to accomplish??

the elbow is also able to be pointed in any direction, forward, backward and both sides when running custom setups. it also allows for a very large tb. my elbow will hold a 90mm tb
