'94 Cobra Questions

'94 Cobra Questions
My '94 was completely stock and I just recently purchased and installed some bolt-ons. Magnaflow cat-back, BBK U/D pullies, JLT CAI and a Jet performance chip. I'm pretty sure I've got 3.73's (at least) out back as I'm at 3100 RPM in 4th at 60 MPH (and I get really crappy gas mileage!).
My questions are:
I was really surprised at the WOT performance after I got the car. It was much slower than I expected... I think the '87 LX 5.0 notch I had back in the day would have freaking killed the '94. And the '87 had 3.08's or worse out back (I'd go through the traps in 3d at 100 MPH).
Anyway, just curious about the HP and performance estimates until I can get it dyno'd and to the track.
Thanks...
My questions are:
- Stock HP is 240. How many HP did I gain (approximately)?
- Based on the mods added, what kind of 1/4 time should I expect? (it's 110 in Phoenix. No way I'm going to FIR until at least September!).

with the mods you have, and what i listed, your car should make around mid 240's to low 250's at the wheels. and with some nice tires, should pull mid 13's

First thing you should do is take the jet chip out and throw it in the garbage. get a 70mm tb, adjustable fpr, headers and an offroad mid pipe.

Thanks for the info. I definitely plan on finishing the exhaust work but had to only go cat-back for budget reasons.

jet chip and companies like them are complete ripoffs.
first of all, its a BS universal ''tune'' and i use the term loosely. all it does is lean your car out a bit, and bump your timing. both of which can be done cheaper and more efficiently.
second, the ''tune'' is not specific to your car. every vehicle is different, what may make XYZ power on someone elses car, might make yours run like ****.
the only chips or ''tunes'' that are worth the money, especially at $340!!! are ones done at your local dyno shop. where they can actually tune your car based on what its actually doing.
its a simple case of application vs. theory

Yeah seriously $340 man? Return it and get your money back, you can spend that better pretty much anywhere else on the car.
With a MAF, full exhaust, 3.55s and Nitto drag radials i ran a 13.8, so you should be able to do at least that good with some sticky tires.
The '94 might feel slower than the fox body but that's just because it's not about to fall apart, no worries

Thanks for the info guys... The speedshop has offered to apply the funds towards a tune and I think I'll take him up on it (the original chip was defective and had to be returned)... I guess I should have asked the question here first before spending the $$$!
