Default Clutch Help!!

Hello! I will start buy saying I own an 89 Gt, and I am unsure when the clutch was last replaced. After a movie, I get into my car and the clutch feels way different! There is alot of play up top, much less resistance, and it engages almost to the floor. I brought it to the shop, and after a few people driving it they said nothing was wrong. I picked up the car, and the clutch felt normal. I figured I was just crazy! It was fine for a day, I stopped at a store, got into my car, and the clutch once again was not the same. It was doing what it was before. I had my friend check it out, an experienced ford mechanic who once owned a 5.0..He went through everything that could be wrong and narrowed it down to the quadrant. He examined the quadrant, and all the teeth are there and seem to be fine. I left his house, and the clutch was back to normal. He is stumped, as am I. Any ideas on the situation would be GREATLY appreciated. Thanks!

check the firewall and make sure it is not cracked anywhere allowing flex to occur, also pull up on the clutch pedal to set adjustment, cable may also be getting ready to snap??

I will look into that, its appreciated! I guess I should mention, if I pull up the clutch to its highest point, it seems to fix itself much faster, if that makes sense!
