Default Smaller oil filter?

Does anyone know of a smaller oil filter for the 302? I don't want to have to get an oil filter relocation unit but my filter just barely doesn't fit. (little to long). Any help is appreciated.

never go smaller oil filter even if you have to relocate the unit, I always try to find the largest one, you can match up the threads to find one but you will be busy opening and closing many boxes. The best place to do this is wal-mart, no one says anything unlike auto parts stores.

The fram number is PH43. That's the shorter filter but I don't recommend Fram. Use the number to cross reference it into another brand like Wix.

As for going to a shorter filter. You do what you have to do. The engine will never know the difference.

Thanks guys, I looked a few up, went to a local speed shop and they had one that sounds pretty good. The dimensions are identical except instead of the length being 5.1 inches, its 3.7. I am pretty sure this should work, if not I will try the ones you guys recommend.

(Read much????????????)

I just asked a simple question. Force4 does not specify why he needs/wants a smaller filter for a 302??? (why? hes looking for a specific filter because he doesnt want to relocate the oil filter????) why doesnt he want to relocate it???

why go after a dedicated FORD/MUSTANG enthusiast? i guess im a noob cuz i dont spend every moment of my life in this site. think again.
