Default 94 mustang gt smog air pump ?

i just got a 94 ford mustang gt. after i started it the belt was squeeling and found out that the smog air pump left of the crank, was froze up, so i bypassed it with a 90 inch belt. now my question is, can i leave the pump and the lines in place incase i decide to replace the pump? or do i have to go through taking the lines offf and pluging the holes.

Nothing wrong with leaving it. the only thing that i would research a little further is if lack of fresh air to cats will cause them to plug up. I have read this somewhere on this forum but have not done research to confirm it.

you can put a replacement one for an 87-93 5.0 on it, you have to get the little neck for the old style one though, just an fyi
