I have ported GT40p's and they're great! Did suck having to get the MAC shorties but at $100 for the heads, I was willing to live with it. I have stock cam and 24lb injectors and it works just fine.

im telling you , you can make 300 on gt40's. port the exhaust and do a comp valve job. do 1.7 rockers and anything other than stock intake unless you found a extrude honed stocker. cobra is a decent choice and cheap. dont use an explorer. you want the lower intake part number to end in -AA

NOT -BA, or -BB or -AB

and yes thats more of a cam issue rather than airflow. try a shift lite with a 5200 chip in it... you'll be shifting right on 5500

Any idea how much porting and valve job will cost? (What is the valve job anyway?) I thought I read not to go over .500 with the gt40s? I have .498 lift right now with this cam. 1.7s will put me at .529

No one mentioned it but the 24's are not needed either. You can run just fine with 19lb injectors.

hell I have 15 (lol yes, 15) 24 lb injectors sitting around. I was going to put them on just in case, and it'll only cost me the price of a injector rebuild kit.

Well injectors are not like fuel pumps. You can go too big.

24lbs on my setup with gt40/p shouldn't be a problem I would think. What's the deffinate way to tell?
