Harmonic Balancer Not Seating???
Just as the title states I can't get the new balancer to seat all the way to the block. It's going in about 3/4 the way on the stopping. I can't see anything that's stopping it from going all the way on but the back of the balancer isn't going all the way to timing chain gasket/front seal. Do I need a special tool or something, or am I missing something here. I have the harmonic balancer puller to pull it off, but it doesn't seem to want to go all the way back on. It's stoping about 1/4" away from the block. Put it this way the gap is large enough for me to put my finger in and feel the rubber front seal.

Yes I did, it's literrally like something is stopping it from going all the way back in or like the shaft it slides on has poped out or something. IDK what the hell is wrong, guess I'll have to take a more indepth look tomorrow.
BTW, my harmonic balancer that blew apart today shouldn't have screwed up the timing or thrown the engine out of balance should it? I really don't want to pull this damn thing back apart again. I wish I had $11,000 cause I'd buy a complete 04 Cobra assembly and convert the car over to a terminator, do a pulley sway, put an intake on it, already have an SCT tuner, and call it a day with this damn old car!!!

Well now, the proper way is to use a dampner install tool. Do not have one? Pony up $70 and there now you can install like a proper machine shop would. Will also have adapter to do about every thing else. Check key and keyway .

its a tapered end, so it will naturally go on hard, by hand. an impact gun should zing it right on, but will overtorque it if you have a strong gun.
you might have a bad casting on the balancer, be sure the inside of it is tapering and not a perfect cylinder.
