Default t5 transmission

im about to buy this kit http://www.jegs.com/i/Ford-Racing/39...00-AK/10002/-1 what else do i need to rebuild the tranny i was told these are the parts that get the most wear and tear that i would only have to buy gears if the tranny blew is this right

inspect the gears for chipping while its apart... other than that, what you have there should do the job nicely

HOW OFTEN DO THE GEARS MESS UP ON T5 IN OTHER WORDS WHATS THE CHANCE OF ME HAVING TO BUY MORE PARTS FOR THE TRANNY OTHER THAN THE KIT.....

:O ok i think the tranny is really messed up now i got home from racing it in a closed street and it was dripping oil like crazy when i pulled over so do you think that rebuild kit is still gonna be worth getting or did i *** it up completely its making noise

Before I bought anything Id take it out and check to see if its even worth rebuilding. If youve got a cracked shaft or case dont waste your money. Find another tranny either new or used.

Checking something before you buy parts is always a good idea.

Open it up and have a look see. Parts, had luck with this company...Zimbrota Bearing Gear 800-658-2537. Know their stuff. They are in Minnesota.

its leaking from 2 spots where the arrow is at on the picture and from where the bellhousing and clutch are at.... the oil looked black so at first i tough engine oil but there was oil at the back of the tranny so i was guessing the tranny oil just needs to be changed should i change out my tranny oil just in case it needs to be changed and if when it leaks its red then that way ill be able to tell for sure its not a rear main seal leak............. i even had oil on my cats
