Default rpm's dropping off

Just started today. was driving in 2nd around town around 2500 and when i let off the gas the car felt like it died but didnt and rpm's dropped to almost zero then shot back up. Little buck after they came back but nothing to bad. It only did it 3 time after driving all day but its only in 2nd or third around 2500 rpm's. any clues? Thanks for everyones help this is the greatest site.
