the thermostat has NOTHING to do with the trans at all, and if your TPS was bad, you would notice more than just odd shifting from the trans.

You are having an overdrive issue/lockup issue I`ll try to post a diagram of all affecting sensors!

Check for codes from these if you have none it isnt a sensor issue!
