Ohe well, it was my first rebuild... Did it all myself with some friends to help. Gapped the second rings at .020 like sealed power said, no idea why they broke. I'll just gap them larger and be way more careful when putting the pistons back in. Should be back on the road in a couple weeks! I would rather that i did it and learned from my mistakes than pay someone to do it!

if there is a ridge on the cylinder wall they caught on it when you put the piston back in or if that is not the case then they caught the deck edge , you have to be careful when the rings get to the point where they transition to the block from the ring compressor

looks like the shop did put a small chamfer on the deck/bore so thats good. We were using a screwed up spring compressor to start with before I bought a new one. Maybe that was the whole issue
