Question Whats you opinion?

I know there is a thread on Dash lights not working but usually that is fixed buy a dimmer switch or the fuse. Well here is my issue. My fuse is blown. I replace it and when I do it pops again. Could this be the dimmer making it blow? Now my dimmer switch does work the dome light just fine. Also if there is a bypass to just keep them bright all the time I am good with that also because that is where it will be set anyway. Thanks for your help!!

if you keep blowing the fuse, plain and simple you have a short. The illumination wire runs from the light switch, to the radio, and along the back of the dash so if you have removed anything or have an aftermarket radio I would start by checking there. It could be the switch that is shorting out internally but you would need to check that with an ohm meter(measures resistance to ground) to find out, or replace it and see if it goes away.

You could have the burnt harness behind the headlamp switch. Mine did the same thing. Pulled the headlight switch out to test the wire and the harness was melted.

If you have a GT mustang with melted wires in any circuit relating to lighting, you need to perform the fog light wiring fix to prevent future meltdowns.
