Default Piston Install Problems

I'm installing my pistons after I got it back from the machine shop. The resistance on the crank was 60ft/lbs after 1, 100ft/lbs after 2 and 140ft/lbs after the 3rd. I stopped because it seems like too much resistance for something that should be turning so freely. I plastigauged crank and rod clearance and all within specs.
How much torque should i be getting on all the pistons?

Stock main cap torque setting for a fox body block is 60-70ft lb, rod cap's are 19-24ft lbs.

I think what the OP was looking for was a rotational torque spec for an engine assembly.

i know for a fact that 140ft/lbs is WAY too much. I can crank my engine over with a 1' ratchet WITH all 8 plugs in...

make sure the rods are installed on the pistons correctly, there is a beveled side to the rod and it must face towards the ends of the journal for corresponding rod vs journal

With all pistons installed, you should be able to put your torque wrench on the crank bolt at whatever you torqued the rods and turn the engine without it clicking once. This doesn't work for a chevy since they torque at like 43lbs but, a 19 to 24lb torque spec, it should work.
