89Gt oil on spark plugs
#11
UPDATE:
alright I checked the compression last night and here is what i got:
cylinders (PSI)
1- 146-147 5- 145-146
2- 148-149 6- 158-159
3- 153-154 7- 155-156
4- 151-152 8- 148-149
What do you guys think? I dont see any major outliers or drastic changes between cylinders. The cylinders with oil on them (still oil when i pulled the autolites out last night) were 5 & 8. whats next, how else can i determine the problem? appreciate all the help/info

That would be because the compression numbers are pretty close. I retested it again with the TB open and all the numbers were within 8-9 PSI.
are there any good threads on intake valve seals? or is this a job for a shop?

You can use your compression tester for the job.
Turn the engine till both valves are closed, then thread the tester hose into the spark hole, connect an air line to it and it'll fill the cylinder with air. This prevents the valves from falling down after you release spring tension.
Get yourself an OHV valve spring compressor, tighten down the spring enough to release the keepers, remove the keepers then the spring. The seal will be sitting there, ready to replace.
