Well i just got me a 5.0 fox.its a 89 and i have a few questions about the engine..

The Mass air flow sensor is missing from intake.all the tubes on the throttle body (guess they are hvac lines idk) is gone and they are just left open. but car runs perfected.could they have turn it off with a tune or what? should i get a mass air flow sensor or leave it alone?

Why in the world would someone remove it? I know 89 was the first year for maf, maybe a few early ones just didn't have it? That confuses me.

The things in red circles are for coolant. Is there a MAP sensor on firewall?(no MAF)

It should be MAF, if it's truly 89, but it is entirely possible to convert back to speed density(SD). The barometric pressure sensor on the firewall, commonly referred to as MAP, will have a vacuum line going to it if you have a SD computer. If no vacuum line, MAF.

You say it runs perfectly like this, so I'm going to assume that someone went back to SD, simply because the car would barely run at all if it truly was a MAF setup with no MAF.

I'm not really sure what the bottom two circles are, but the top right I believe is a coolant line connection. Top left is a vacuum source to the valve cover I think? Im not entirely sure anymore, I don't own any foxes anymore and all my 5.0 motors are disassembled.
