Default Solid motor mounts

Does anyone have any specs/drawings/measurements for some solid 5.0 motor mounts for a 94/95 GT? I work in a fab shop but I have nothing to base a mount off of.

Why do you want solid mounts? Use a regular engine mount and base it off of that.

I agree why have solid mounts on it. The engine needs to have a way to flex and move other wise your gonna be breaking welds or bolts or worse cross member.
Engines vibrate and believe me if they were solid mounts youd feel it through the whole car till something gives

Ok I understand why you would want solid mounts for reaction time I know pple have used them for a long time at the track to get more power to the ground quicker. I just wouldnt want them . But you should be able to get a stock mount and go off that i you want the solids . Just remember to beef up the trans mounts or youll be busting the bell housing

I know you didn't ask for an opinion but how about you get som Prothane Motor Mounts and make a Solid Tranmission Mount?

if you are going with solid motor mounts make sure to use prothane transmission mount.

solid motor = poly tranyy
poly motor = solid tranny
solid motor + solid tranny = disaster sooner or later

Prothane mounts raise the engine up 3/4"-1". Just FYI. So do most aftermarket solids. If you copy the oem mounts, dimension wise, then your engine will stay in the proper place. Solid trans mounts are meant to be run with solid motor mounts.

Here's a quote from a website that sells them, they are also a sponser of this site:
"Solid Transmission Mounts must be used in conjunction with Solid Motor Mounts to prevent breakage of engine block and transmission case due to torsional stress."

I guess there is alot of contraversy out on the internet. I've always read this:
solid motor = poly tranyy
poly motor = solid tranny
solid motor + solid tranny = disaster sooner or later

I guess its time to change my search engine. lol. now i understand why you would need to install solid motor mounts with solid tranmission mount.

I'm using Prothane poly motor mounts and the stock rubber trans mount. Works great except the poly mounts lifted my engine up about 3/4".

Well I definitely don't want to raise the motor up any. Lower would be best.
