Check ENG Light...!!
So this morning I replaced the left valve cover gasket (Drivers side) - replaced the right side last night - everything seems to have gone right. Took a little finesse but after a few hours and few trips to Autozone, got it to work. Took off the.... Upper Plenum? I think that's what it is - the piece mounted to the top of the Intake Manifold and what the Throttle Body is mounted to. I left all the linkage hooked to the Throttle Body and just moved it aside, removed the hoses from the EGR and completely took off the (Upper Intake Plenum ?) disconnected some plugs and wires that were in the way and took off the Distributor Cap... After MANY hours of troubleshooting, I cant figure out why the check engine light is on.. Oil pressure is better than ever, everything electrical (light, dash) are a little dim now when sitting at idle - was not before - but I checked and rechecked everything and still cant figure it out..
I apologize for the LONG post, just trying to be descriptive as possible.. If anyone could help, I would greatly appreciate it..
Thanks

pull the codes and see what it is telling you . the check engine light is on for a reason and will store a code. http://sbftech.com/index.php?topic=2471.0
Is it possable that you got a wire pinched in the upper intake when you put it back together like a hot feed wire to a sensor? Maybe just a vacuum line is not hooked up or one of them got cracked in your struggles.
