5.0 #1 and #2 cylinder misfire
hello. new to mustang forums. very first post actually. my brother and I are about fed up with my recent mustang purchase. about a month ago we drove eight hours one way to trade my daily driver s10 for a 92 LX with a carb'd 351 windsor dirt track truck motor in it. of coarse i would need a daily driver back and that set up wouldn't cut it lol. my brother has had about 50 mustangs in his life and has enough parts to put together about 5 so he said he would put a good running fuel injected 5.0 in it for trade for the motor that was in it. ok, so here is the issue. for some reason the motor is missing and its like the #1 and #2 cylinders are none existent. we can completlly remove the plug wires and injector plugs and the motor does not react. parts list and things we've checked or swapped. the motor is a stock 85 HO with a lightning intake and 85 AOD tranny. MSD billet distributer. entire cars wiring harness and computer is 87 speed density. even changed the dash. we even tried changing engine harness's and computer to MAF, same thing. changed fuel rails and moved around injectors. checked for spark-good, voltage at injector plugs-good, no vacuum leaks. vacuum to MAP sensor hooked up to intake, TPS sensor set to .99 volts, brought up #1 to TDC and set/checked the timing/retard about 20 times lol. compression is steady across all 8 cylinders. fuel presure-40psi. swapped out a different SD computer. now i've heard alot on here about the EGR valve. i asked him about it and he said no that he has done away with the EGR's in all his.....? please help lol. sorry for the long story just wanted to give you all as much info as possible. thx

Ok so I'm pretty sure we have the miss figured out. I suggested swapping upper intake manifolds off one of his(which happened to be a cobra intake) with mine (which is off a ford lightning) figuring maybe there was something about it. That was it! Idles great! Next day went to the junk yard and got a stock intake.

doesn't line? doesn't line up? if thats what you ment then it sure did. it was a perfect bolt up and the gasket matched with it perfect as well. i just think the internals were different or it was clogged up some how.
