1988 bad miss problem
This thing is kicking my butt!! I have a miss that came on gradually and got to the point it's too bad to drive. I have done everything I can think of. I have disconnected all MSD. The kicker is after spending countless hours chasing the problem, I found by unplugging the alternator the miss it completely gone. So I thought I had a internal short. So I install a new alternator, thinking I finally got it. Wrong!! I'm done.....anyone else every run into this before?

All stock wiring. I'm just wondering if it's a computer issue? I thought about just start unplugging sensors and see if I can follow it, but not sure if any or what else would cause it. I'm wondering if a bad 02 would cause that. If you follow the wiring diagram it all ties in to each other. I'm just burnt out on this thing....

I highly doubt it's a computer issue. The only reason the misfire would go away is if the alternator was putting out excessive voltage, which it's apparently not. This is likely not a sensor issue but a wiring flaw somewhere, be it a broken fuseable link or a bad ground or something along those lines.
