What you were told is absolutely correct........
If you are in Utah you are also in a thin air situation so that just makes the 4.10's that much more useful.....

sounds good I also have a shift kit I need to installed or have installed haha. anyone have any experience I wth that? I have been told its not hard if you follow the directions. when i bought it I thought it was gonna come with a video put I just got paper instructions.

A shift kit is not hard to do. Just follow the directions word for word.

Back in the '50's it wasn't unusual at all for cars that were sold in Utah, Colorado, Wyoming and Montana to have 'Rocky Mountion' gears from the factory as standard equipment, this meant deeper gears like 3.91, 4.10 or even 4.56.
Hills were only one reason for it.
Real reason (I think) is the fact that any engine is just an air pump and the car builders wanted to get the RPM up in the speed range so that the car could make some torque.
Worked then and it'll work now........

hey guys I am installing my shift kit right now got it all apart. I have removed the 2nd accumulator and it says to ad a series of springs and spacers and reinstall when I put the piston back up in how to I push it far enough to get the lock ring back on its too tough for me to push with my hand.
