Default Quad shock removal

I'm getting my 5-lug/Cobra disc brake conversion installed on Monday. Along with all of those parts I'm dropping off my new FR500 wheels. The rear are 17x10.5 with Nitto NT555 315/35-17 tires. These things are wiiiide.

I've already rolled the fenders and know I'll have to remove the quad shocks. My question is this..is the car driveable without quad shocks? I've got some upper and lower control arms on hand, but probably won't have a chance to install them before the conversion install. Can I just remove the quad shocks now and be able to drive safely across town and then back?

Well considering v6 stangs do not even come from the factory with quads id say your perfectly fine without them. Might just make your suspension a little softer in the rear.

They prevent wheel hop, or at least attempt to.. so that's all you're giving up by removing them. As you seem to know, a good pair of control arms will do the same job.

lol sounds good. How hard are they to take off? Can they be taken off while the car is on the ground?

I got em off already...thanks. it was pretty easy with an impact. I had better luck just taking the whole bracket off the back. That back shock bolt must be an 18mm and not one of the 10 different socket sets i have here has an 18mm...go figure.
