With all the stuff you'll need, I would try to buy a parts car to act as a donor. Piecing together all of the little stuff will cost a fortune and take forever.

Just my $.02...

Yeah but by the time you swap all that stuff in then piece by piece replace eveything that's going to be bad it might have been cheaper to buy it seperate to begin with. I'd buy all the lines used, and buy the compressor and such new.

If I buy the upgrade system for r134 it comes with compresser and all new lines. I do have a donor car 86 LX conv, With a V6. I'm just not sure if I have to change the heater box under the dash.

yes, you'll need to change the heater box if your car does not currently have an evaporator in it

Sooo... You got a parts car and you're thinking about a full "new" AC kit.. Sounds like a winner to me!

I've been eye balling one of those kits myself. Mine has factory A/C which still just BARELY works a little and I'm up in the air about paying for an R-12 recharge or just going full tilt and replacing the entire system with one of those kits.

If you buy the kit I'd love to know what you think of it!

I think this is the way im going to go with this. Looks like the donor car is going to provide me with the heater box and the controls on the dash. Can anybody think of anything else??
Ill let you how everything works out......Thanks
