Default 1994 mustang is tuning needed?

I have a 1994 mustang gt. I'm new to mustangs. I just bolted on gt40x heads, 1.7 ford racing rockers, e cam, upper and lower gt 40 intake, 70mm bbk throttle body, 24 pound injectors, 24 pound Maf, 1 inch heat spacer, etc lol. I hear there could be problems with idle and the computer. Do I have to get it tuned or a chip or nothing? I'm looking for any info on this matter especially 94-95 owners! From what I read I guess the 94-95 are the red headed step child!Lol

I don't necessarily think that you will need a tune. You should get it fired up and running , see how it idles and look for any dead spots in full sweep going from idle to wot while driving. Some cars respond better than others to minor mods like that.

Worst case , a 94/95 cobra ecu would likely solve any issues you have, since that is basically what you have is a cobra package bar the cam. Im pretty confident it will run fine though, as long as you have the calibrated MAF .
Yes the 94/95 computers can be a bit more finicky when it comes to mods but its mainly there timing strategy that gives the most problems. You may have to play with the base timing to get rid of any pinging , depending on what heads you used, there are 3 different x heads I believe. I have the x302 gt40x heads with a 64cc combustion chamber , I think one of the sets of x heads is 58cc so it depends on if you changed the compression ratio a lot or no.
If you have not already done so I would get an adjustable FPR , and a larger fuel pump , install an inline fuel pressure gauge because this can be an extremely valuable ( almost vital IMO ) for getting it running at tip top performance.

Im running 30lb injectors on my 90 with calibrated maf, and I had to tweak it a bit to help solve a little richness problem . Sometimes simply indexing the MAF housing will solve little problems like that, I ened up indexing my MAF housing a 1/4 turn to toward the fender well and it helped a lot.

While a tune would be the easiest rout , to just let someone do all the tweaking in the program for you. It can be done with some simple adjustments here and there , and that's the fun part to me.

Dawson - thanks for the info. I've got it running. When you first start it it doesn't wanna stay running. It is running very rich. I believe I found the problem my bbk fpr is messed up. I pulled the vac line off and it was dripping gas out the vac port. I've never seen that in any of the turbo cars I used to toy with. I just got a new one today hopefully I'll get it on and see what happens. From what I have been told set the psi around 35-40 psi. I also did buy a bbk 255 fuel pump but I'm just trying to get the thing running enough I can take it to my buddies shop so I have a lift. Not sure which gt40 heads I have. I know they have svo on the front of them (I bought them with the car a couple years ago).

Again Thank you and any info is welcome.
