Question e303 cam

i got a 94 gt 5.0 and im looking to do a E3030 cam swop. planned on changing the valve springs and all that just wondering if there is any one who has some other ways to hop them up a little more then a cam swop, ported and polish heads, full exhaust with shorty headers, and 70mm throttle body?

yeah, mill the heads .028" from stock to increase your compression by around .5.

pocket port and remove exhaust bump if there is one.

24 lb injectors.

A set of 3.73 or 4.10 gears goes a very long way in these cars.

+1 ^^^

If your still running factory gears, that's definitely the first mod I'd recommend.

I personally wouldn't stick any money into the stock heads unless your REALLY pinching pennies. Even though I'm running E7's that have been worked over and perform very well for what they are, the money the po stuck into these would have got a nice set of aluminum ones

And you won't need bigger injectors till you get up around 300hp at the crank.

Your vehicle specifications are not listed in your signature. Do you have a automatic or 5-speed? Any other mods, such as tire/rim no longer factory specs?

Future mods?

Goal for the 1/4 mile?

Also consider you live in Michigan, and Michigan weather.

I'd knock your hp goals down alittle bit. If your starting with a stocker, you've got maybe 180-190 at the wheels now, if it's been maintained. I don't know your budget, but I don't think your gonna like the price tag on 400 hp. 300 at the wheels makes for a fun street car with the right gears. And much easier on the checkbook.

And on your last question on gear ratio, 3:73 or 4:10 would put a big smile on your face.

400 hp.......you aren't gonna get even close to that without heads, intake, cam and every bolt on you can think of.......can you get that out of a 302.....sure, but the combo needs to be matched and well thought out and not just thrown/bolted together......meaning special attention to detail and all the little things during assembly must be done........or just go the stroker route, but even then to get 400 rwhp , parts must be carefully selected.
