I'm new to the forum but had a question about an engine swap. I'm looking to install a 1993 cobra engine in my 1991 gt. Is it a basic one for one swap or do I need a 93 cobra computer. Is there anything else that I should know or need. Thanks in advance for any info.
I'll be happy to stand corrected, but doesn't the Cobra motor run 24lb injectors which would require either the ECU or a calibrated MAF?
No you right but it's still a basic swap. The stock PCM will operate the 24 pound injectors just fine as long as he has a maf that's calibrated for 24s or he could use the regular GT 19 pound injectors as long as the maf was calibrated for 19 pound injectors. The gt40 motors will work fine on19s.The PCMs are pretty flexable a long as they are being fed the correct information. So your info was correct.
