New from New Jersey and need HELP
My husband has a 1990 Mustang GT with some after market work done. We've been having problems with power and took it to a "Mustang" guy but only wasted money. I'm new to the forum arena but was guided here by a good friend so I hope someone can help.
I am looking for options to possibly breakdown and rebuild the car. Definitely want replace the wire harness (it's time). I'm not really into the car stuff but it's been sitting for over a year and he's ready to junk it. This is his "toy" and I want him to have it back in working shape. ANY and ALL assistance would be appreciated!!!
He has supported me over the last 10 years so now it's my turn to let him enjoy!! Thanks!

Thanks ..
Everything was working fine but then he got hit from the side. The car was fixed but since then just hasn't run right. At times he'll be driving along and then the car just shuts off, no power. Due to the age, he thinks that it may be the electrical. We've tried having it tested but we've only been told they couldn't find anything.
Another issue was the idle .. it would run fine for the first 20-30 minutes. When he would come to a stop the idle would drop really low and "sputter" (it's the only way I can describe it).
This is a start but I'm going to have my husband step in on the thread in the next day and maybe he can provide more specific info.

If all these problems started to occur after the accident, I would start to inspect wiring in all the locations that were repaired. Body shops are not always so tender when repairing bent metal. They may have accidently pinched a wire, or chaffed one causing it to short out.
