I was just wondering why they switched in 93 to hypers? Was it just cheaper to make or are there benifits to the hypers?

closer tolerance on the pistons and I'm sure $$$ think about 20.00 X 100,000 cars = 2 million dolars bonus <img border="0" src=smileys/smiley10.gif border="0">

Just about everything a car company does is because of a couple things:

More profit
EPA
Saftey Regulations

cars made in late 92 adn 93 had hyper pistons. For a NA setup, hypers will hold up fine. Think, cheaper pistons, lighter, for a stock vehicle.
