Buddy....you need to realize something. When you buy a new car and sign the papers, it's built into the contract. Sometimes you void the warranty if you take it anywhere but the dealership, but the modification thing it's KINDA wrong. How?

You can modify anything on your car (with boltsons and within reason) and not void your warranty. It's federal law, just cna't think of the name off the top of my head. Basically it states that if you replace a part with an aftermarket, the warranty is only void on that part, and if the car fails they can not deny you warranty work unless if the part you installed caused the failure...and they need proof of it.

Let's say that you put an intake on your car. 2 weeks later a head cracks. They have to replace that under warranty. Another way to look at it.....you isntall nitrous and while going down the 1/4 you simutaniously gernade the motor from stupidity/too much juice AND your sunroof locks open.

They've gotta fix the sunroof, but since it'd be damned easy to proove the nitrous was your fault and the reason the motor failed, that's outta your wallet.

Man, my condolences. Seatbelt saved my life in a similar accident, except i wound up in a creek bed behind a funeral home, barely missing a natural gas pipeline on the way in. No broken bones, minor bruise from the seatbelt, nothing from the airbag, but I had a lacerated spleen that healed in 3 or 4 days.

I'm extremely sorry that this happened to you and your daughter. My condolences.

I walked away from this.....definately in shock and my memory of it is gone (last thing I remembered before waking up in an ambulence was turning down Straight St. in downtown....a good hour and a half of time I'm glad I don't remember). Apparently I crossed the double yellow on a 2 lane-each-way road called Harrison and almost hit a car head on, she swerved (thank god) and missed me, then called 911.....as did the people in the funeral home paying their respects when they heard a big crash, looked up, and saw a totaled car in the creek in front of them.

The car is in a ditch 10-12 feet below road surface.

Two years ago my wife fell asleep behind the wheel and went off the highway. She passed away from cardiac arrest from wounds sustained.Basically speaking her heart was bruised so bad that it went into arrest. Her seat belt would have saved her, but like most young adults she felt it was "the man" trying to tell her how to live. Now i have to explain to our daughter (when shes older) where her mother is. Bottom line seatbelts save lives.

Those that argue that "its my choice". Think about the time, money and effort it takes to stabilized a patient that is in my wifes condition as opposed to a patient that had a similar accident but only sustained fractures and bruising.

Sorry to sound off like a public service announcement, but if you have ever lost someone you will know how i feel.

damn, hopefully that will scare the seatbelt thing into some of you non-wearers. that kid will never know her true mom. and the 10 ft. drop into the creek and he WALKED AWAY, he could easily be dead if he wasnt wearing his seatbelt.

i still havent heard a reason why to not wear your seatbelt . that uncomfortable thing is bull sh*t. just think of how many people will have their life drastically changed because of you not wearing a simple thing like a seatbelt . so maybe you dont die, YOU WILL STILL BE F*CKED UP THE REST OF YOUR LIFE!!!

Jeep - it's the Magnusson-Moss act

and that's another reason I won't buy one of those plastic bodied cars - randomly swerving into oncoming traffic is SUCH BS.
