side mirror / outer door trim removal / paint??
Got a 93 GT, going to do some trim painting. Do most of you remove the mirrors and door trim b4 painting or mask off on the car?? I will need to remove the drivers drip rail moulding, because it needs replacement, any tips? I imagine the mirrors will unbolt from inside the door, behind triangle trim piece? I purchased Bondo bumper black/trim paint, flexible primer and scotchbrite pads. Any removal/painting advise would be great!

Id remove the trim pieces to paint them. The only thing you cant easily remove is the quarter windows. Those Id just tape off. The belt molding has to come off before the mirror. To get it off just open the door and remove the Phillips head screw and slide the molding back a little bit and then rock it off the car. It has some rivets that it has to clear. The mirror will unbolt from the inside behind the triangle piece but if its a power mirror the connector is behind the door panel. The drip rail just unscrews and pulls down and then forward back at the quarter window.

yeah the side mirrors have 2 small bolts holding them on from the inside, but dont forget you have to unscrew the inner part to unplug it, which is 3 screws, 2 inside, and one where the bolts are on the housing
