Starting my Winter project, looking for advice/ Guidance
Well guys, with winter looming just around the corner, I am starting my winter projects. I am planning on doing a general refresh of some main components (engine, suspension, rear)
I've got everything mostly planned out, except the engine. I want to go n/a 347, but I don't know if that is the best route to take. I am looking for a weekend warrior with 4xx hp/4xx tq that is capable of mid-low 11's, and still relatively streetable.
I'm looking for some seasoned advice/opinions. What do you guys think is the best route to take?

IMHO, the 347's are money than most folk's think. My summer project, now a fall project, 347 has cost me about $1000 in machine work and balancing, another $1100 for the basic kit. I already had the heads but I spent anothe $700 on the solid roller and assorted parts for that and I'm not done yet.
What ever you do, don't let them charge you for balancing the basic kit. They can't really do the job unless they have the balancer and the flex plate or flywheel you are going to use. If you decide to do the 347 ( no replacement for displacement) Try Coast high Performance, super service and good prices......
