Default heads and cam setup

ok i just bought some gt40 heads ported and polished for my mustang. i figured what the hell while im down there i might as well get a new cam. so far all i have for the engine is a holley 670cfm street avenger carb eldelbrock intake and a quad 4 radiator and an exhaust setup. So i was wondering what would be the best cam for my mustang, i want something that would be nice, loapy, and deep. When i replace the cam am i going to have to get some lifters? or what all am i going to need to get?

what about that cam has you interested?

why do you want a cam with less exhaust lift than intake lift. You do know that its the exhaust that suffers on the SBF right...

perhaps you should post up a little bit more about your goals for the car so we can better help you choose WISELY

no. its a flat tappet cam. you need a hyd roller.

this will be a good cam for down the road if you want an OTC cam.
blower cams need a wider LSA to optimize power. that first cam you posted had 107* LSA. it wont idle, wont drive down low, wont be pleasant, and wont make power with a blower. at all. this cam has a 114* LSA which is great for a blower or turbo, not so much so for an NA combo. depending on how long you might be NA, just go with an NA cam...

You don't want flat tappet, trust me. I went with one and it really ruined a brand new set up. Have to spend another grand to fix everything.
