Default Header gasket question

I have shortie bbk headers and one has a gasket leak... Do I need special header gasket and what kind of thread sealant should I use??? Thanks

felpro 1415 are what they come with use the same ones like 15$.

never used header gaskets on any of my rides....straight orange RTV silicone works great, as long as you let it cure overnight before starting the engine.

never heard of using the RTV!

For a daily driver, Percy reuseable header gasket and stage eight stainless header bolts. Don't need threadlock. If you use threadlock compound there are various grades that break down at various temps. Stuff on the open market will not hold due to exhaust temps (need Aviation Grade). Then good luck later when you try to remove bolts, you will have to heat with torch to break down compound to remove bolts later. MAC

Anti-seize willhelp to prevent stuck bolts. Especially important when you have aluminum heads and steel bolts. Bubba
