Gas tank hard to put back on....
I pulled my tank and replaced the pump, but it was extremely hard to get back up. I'm 100% certain I have the plastice sheild on right but it took me and two of my largest friends (big ole boys) to push the tank up enough to get the straps back on. The shield lined up with the straps but it just didn't feel right. I even had to remove the vapor line to get it up all the way. The thing that bugs me most is now I'm leaking fuel. The gasket was pretty old but I don't think I have the tank on right somehow. I noticed the filler neck has a flange in the middle of the pipe. Does this ripple/flange pass through the gasket or meet flush with it? As it is now, it's about 2-3 inches away from it... It sounds so simple but I don't know what's going on with this damn thing lol

gasoline is incredibly dense. get it as empty as you can
figure a gallon weighs about 6lbs... tank is around 15 gal i think, 1/4 tank is about 4ish gallons give or take.... thats almost 30 lbs of dead weight you dont need...

I did it dead empty. I noticed when I put it back on it pushed the glued padding near the pump area around, yet my straps were lined up. I don't see how such of an easy concept is turning out to be such a pain in the as....
