proportioning valve gutting

proportioning valve gutting
ok I've been doing a lot of research on this project, I am ALMOST complete on my braking system, but I have just one question about it. I understand that on 87-93 stangs you gut the front part of the proportioning valve, but my car is a little different than on those years. I don't have a cap on the rear of it, just a front cap. I also read that when removing the front cap, a spring is suppose to want to press the cap off. I pulled it off thinking I may as well go ahead and gut it, but no spring was pressing the cap. So I am wondering, do I still need to gut my valve? I have the adjustable valve in place, but haven't done any tweaking just yet, I'd rather know what to do about this part first. I also have an SVO master cylinder installed, so whats left? I also saw it say use a 13/16s wrench, mine was 19mm. Also if I do need to do this, anyone know of a cheap plug to use? The ford racing one is ridiculously priced

Yes you'll still need to gut the combination valve even though you have the Adjustable Proportioning Valve.

Even though the plug is over priced no one has ever found any sort of replacement plug to use in it's place.

thats what I was thinking, thanks for the info. I've seen some people say they'll just tig weld the hole, hopefully I can find someone that has one. That, or just cut the valve out entirely, it looks like it becomes useless after this process anyway other than providing a T. Thanks for the info
