How accurate is indicated on these cars? Are these lie-o-meters?

Im happy with the gas mileage I get. 80% highway/ 20% City and I get on average 20mpg or 21mpg when i drive "responsibly". with a 6 speed Standard.

Still on my first tank with my 2016 so I can't comment there (also did a lot of idling due to playing with settings so it's not going to be accurate at all!). However, with my 2013 GT, using the mpg rate on the "trip" screen on the info display and then checking it by manually calculating out the mpg upon a tank fill-up, it was always pretty spot-on. I'd imagine the 2015/2016 is using the same calculations for mpg info.

I'm at 600 miles on my 2016 GT manual. Indicated mpg is 25-28 at 70 and 23-25 at 80, stock differential.

Just bought a 2015 GT (50th Aniv. Edition/lots of goodies). It has about 11,000 miles on the odo. I haven't been tracking the mileage on it (just 2 fill ups, so far).

But I have noticed in the two fill-ups that it 'projects' 240 miles on each tank-full (exactly, actually - which I thought was strange?). This projection averages out to 15.5 mpg.

Another thing is range? If you are getting under 20mpg, maybe an extended range fuel tank is the way to go? At 15.5 gallons, this fuel tank is small (for the V8). Going to 18 or 20, might have been better?

Of course, that would increase weight/pounds too. Gas weighs about 8lbs./gal, adding 2.5 to 4.5 gallons would not be trivial.

Wow you must be running old leaded fuel, as modern unleaded weighs about 6.3 Lb per gallon.

Actually, an ARCO exec tells me it weighs closer to 6lbs. per gallon. However, it depends largely upon it's density (temperature thereof).

I mean, it rivals me for beer guzzling in college. Also, i noticed that at around 70mph, in 6th gear cruising on the highway, i'm getting mid to upper 30's for fuel economy.

Can anyone validate these numbers? Has anyone had any long trips with theirs yet that can shed some light on the subject?

Thanks guys!

No way you are getting over 30 mpg with a GT at 70 mph, you must be watching it right after you reset it and coast! These cars get about what the window says it will, 21-24 on the highway, and 15-19 around town depending on your foot and conditions. Besides, it is a GT, why worry about gas mileage.
