Olythekid quoted... Like I said, why should I get all worked up over a 0.4L displacement increase? ... especially since the competition is busting out 1L more. I had a 5.0 Ford on my 87 Lincoln, bullet proof engine, thing got me all over the US.
So Ford may even squize out 400HP N/A ... then what? So much more potential for HP with a 6.0.

The new 5.0 is way different from the old 5.0 and even the current 4.6. The new 5.0 is a DOHC 32 Valve screamer that is a lot better than a pushrod 6.0 IMO.

I hope Ford doesn't revive the 5.0... we saw it for decades as the 302.

The only 5.0 I would want to hear about would be a modular overhead cammed engine.

I do have to admit I was impressed by a certain one-off Shelby Cobra replica that had a non-production SVT engineered 5.0 block with overhead cammed heads on it. I only saw the outside of the engine and didn't ask a lot of specifics but it was not a pushrod engine. SVT only made 4 of them from what the owner said. If you are in disbelief email Tom@ampperformance.com and ask about his good friends ac cobra engine. So i think in short, SVT already designed the "new" 2011 5.0 engine but it has been on the back burner for a while.

The pushrod 5.0 is a goodengine, but the stock engine blocks were lacking because they were built to produce only 225hp take those stock internals past 350hp and the engine surely will not last many miles. They twist the distributor drive shafts, the block flexes etc, the stock pistons were junk for making power. blah blah blah I'll stop spinning my wheels now haha.

U know what, that's an excellent point. I dig that.
