2011 Mustang GT First Test Drive

Both of these cars are amazing considering their price points. The V6 has to be among the best bang for buck ever made!
Now, the next question is how are they going to improve on this? What's left? IRS is about the only thing I can think of. Maybe they could just give them away...yeah, that'll do it. :-)

At this point I think I'd stick with the solid axle. Why? It's one of the best (if not THE best) solid axle suspensions in existence, and every review I've read says that the mustang's solid axle is better than the Camaro's IRS! If Ford switches to an IRS, they will be, in effect, starting at the bottom of the totem pole. As one of the reviewers said best, it's better to have the world's best solid axle than a mediocre IRS (lookin' at you, Chevrolet).

Wow, very impressive. I'd say better times are on the way with the gt....with 370ish whp a lot of s197s are in bottom 12's low 11s.
The v-6 is very impressive as well. That's right around 05-09 s197 territory. Much better then I expected.

Time will tell I guess. Also, don't be surprised if the 6spd auto produces better times. Today's high tech autos are very efficient at putting power down.
