I guess this dude did what was right for him however this is quite dissapointing. Clearly ford wants to keep everyone in the dark with regard to specifically what the issue is with this engine failure.
Not necessarily. I cannot believe this thread is still being watched. I'm the OP. There is a third reason that someone might clam-up that no one has yet mentioned. Clearly Ford is denying these claims. But what if a DEALERSHIP were to stick their neck out in a HUGE way for a really good customer? That is something that would warrant protecting them over, correct? I am not, nor would I ever, say that this is what happened in my case...............pure speculation on my part.
There is a sticky about the reflashing and what the dealer and ford can see, basically if you return to stock all they can see is the time it was returned to stock, it looks like a dead battery, as for tunes I have over10,000 miles on my c&L cai, axle backs, and tune, also if you do the research in the sticky section there have only been 4 recorded failures of the #8 .. Thats it, every builder out there says its really hard to hurt one of these engines, na...
I have a 2011 gt no tune and had #8 go out on me I had put lth before I knew I had low compression and warranty covered it only because I had not tuned it.
