I recommend you NOT cut corners (< pun intended ) and get the parts required for your driving needs and get additional ones when your budget grows.

Real bummer to sacrifice stuff you really want and end up with less car than you need

Well thats the thing, Im not really too sure if its cutting a corner for my application. At the end of the day it is still a daily driver 99% of the time, d-specs would be nice but do I really need fully adjustable shocks/struts? I wish I could try each set for a day and see if its really worth it, unfortunatly thats not happening.

 

I don't know much about shock/strut/spring combos for setting up a ride, but continually hear to NOT bother with adjustable dampers for a street ride.

I dont see any reason why they would NOT be recommended. The adjustability is there to take advantage of if u go Autox or drag race. You dont have to continually adjust them day to day.

IMO it is advantageous to have such an ability over a fixed dampening system.

 

Now me...if i got the adjustables, i wouldn't ever adjust em. It may sound good...but you really have to think if you'd use it.

Im wantin to do FLSFC, UCAs and LCAs, and some tokico shocks.

 

Yea thats what Im kind of thinking, Id probably **** around with them for the first month then after that set them and forget about it. Whereas the HP's are already set as a performance street shock.

So Im going to do the HP's or possibly the KYB's but probably the HP's so i can put money into other areas. If I went with the D-specs I wouldnt even be able to upgrade my brakes but by going with the HP's it allows me to upgrades my brakes and shocks for the same price.

 

Getting ready to order some parts and Im wondering if I should order my shocks/struts for a 94-04 or an 87-93. I see a lot of guys have said to buy them for an 87-93 if your car is lowered but I want to make sure its not BS before I do.

 

Update

Ended up pulling the trigger and not cutting corners on the shocks/struts, went with bilsteins. Also ordered MM subframe connectors, and J&M rear LCA's, will be adding the eibach sway bars and MM strut tower brace probably sometime next month as well along with the rest of the goodies.

Should make for a great handling mustang that still has good street manners. Might even end up going a little more serious down the road and doing a panhard bar setup in the rear to cure the upper control arm binding issue.
