Coil-over
Hi everyone, I'm a long time creeper of the classic forum, but until recently never had a reason to introduce myself. Currently have a 92 LX 5.0 convertible (hence the name), and recently inherited a 68 cougar and 67 mustang coupe. My question regards the 67. I am pushing up my timeline for upgrading the suspension, and want opinions/experiences with different coil-over front end kits. I understand the search button, so please no smart-a** comments like that. This upgrade has just come up much faster than I expected, and would appreciate any info I can get.
The car is mostly stock, with the orig 289 removed and replaced with a crate 302. The only upgrade I've done is replaced the rims with American Muscle bullitt rims, 17x9 in the rear and 17x8 up front. Planing to do a complete coil-over front with disc breaks first, the rear will be done later. Thank you in adance for any input

I've been around the fox body side of this site for awhile, so I'm well aware of what goes on around here
Also if anyone has personal experience with the install process of a rack and pinion install and warnings or lessons learned would be great to. Looking at the kit from Total Control. Are there any coil over kits that come with the spindles? I figure if I'm going to do a major upgrade, may as well do it all correct and upgrade to disc brakes while I'm at it. Breaking the bank but I think I may sell my 92 anyway, the thrill of a convertible has worn off. Found this on ebay, anyone have experience with the company that produces it?

Look at http://www.totalcontrolproducts.com/fcoc-fd.html or http://www.globalwest.net/ If you want cobra brakes http://www.mustangsteve.com/cobrabrakes.html on the rack and pinion check the faq there is links to good well known companies i don't trust cheap ebay parts they will break.
You don't have to change spindles on a '67 to upgrade the brakes. All V8 cars in '67 used the same spindles. You can either use a factory 4-piston disc brake kit, or you can look at Mustang Steve's Cobra brake conversion (which Andrew already posted) for something bigger.
I've heard TCP's rack is top notch. Same with their suspension, although it's pricey. Global West sells good stuff as well.

I'm going to replace the spindles, figure if everything else is going to be new, why cut corners. The front of this car was wrapd around a telephone pole in the early 80's, and my father bought and repaired it in the early 90's. It needs some fresh parts. I'm not looking for "cheap" but "inexpensive" would be nice as long as its still quality. I'm leaning twards the Total Control parts, plan on keeping my stock steering colum though.
Spindles are generally not wear items, unless the bearings have overheated and blued the metal.
TCP is far from what I'd call 'inexpensive.' Inexpensive quality is Cobra brakes and a rebuilt stock steering/suspension with roller perches.

I understand TCP is not inexpensive, but I want to do this once, so I want to do it right the first time. I just figured I would see if there are any comparable products in design and quality that may have a little bit lower cost. Make sure I'm not just paying for a name if you know what I mean.
Just a thought, but if you don't want to go coilover and look stock with an awesome ride check out http://www.opentrackerracingproducts.com/ I just bought the bulk of my suspension from John. They have excellent customer service to boot.
