Shift issue with my 07 v6 mustang
ok so i have a 2007 4.0 v6 mustang and at first i thought i was having clutch issues so i replaced my clutch slave and throwout bearing. Im still having the same issue so i thought it might be my syncro gears but then i found out reverse dont have a synro. When i shift into 1st or reverse its like its catching on something sometimes at stop lights i cant even get it into 1st i let off the clutch a little and it will fall in 2nd through 5th are catching as well but not like 1st and reverse it gets easier as you go up in gears. Any help would be appreciated!!!! oh and fluids are good checked everything. thanks

It's the nature of the beast with the POS T5 in those cars. The GT cars have a much better unit.
Those trannies are never smooth from day one and after 50K miles or so, they're just a bitch to engage when not rolling.
The factory calls for auto fluid in those... some folks go with more expensive oil brands and claim a smoother shifting.
In any case, do not use gear oil as a substitute.

The 3650 that's in the 05/10 GT will work with an aftermarket adapter plate.
The problem is to find a used unit cheap enough.
The 6 speed T56 or T6060 (Shelby unit) will bolt in your car as well with the same adapter plate but those 6 spd are pricy.
Look over at the mustangcollective.com for those swaps, it's been done...
