Default Aftermarket Radio

I got an alpine after market radio.. but the person who had the car b4 me also had an after market radio. I tryied installing it tn. It was awiring disaster.i cut the wiress wile the radio was on to make sure the colors matched up with the right speakers, I spliced them all perfectly with clips. But i have no power? I took the biggest red wire from the back in there wich iam almost sure is the power and it still didnt work.
- Someone please help, im very frustrated.
