Default Remote Wire Question

I have an 09 STOCK, non-shaker headunit. I want to hook up an amp and i've already got a LOC. My question is, where does the remote wire go? Can I just splice it into the 12 volt switched? Or tap into the passenger fuse box? Any help appreciated.

Tap it in to the radio fuse if you can. It makes things much easier.

Do not splice into the 12+. The remote wire is the wire that turns on the amp when the car is on, so if you splice into the 12+, the amp will be on constantly and likely drain your battery. Tapping into the radio fuse is the perfect place.

*Also, make sure you've got a fuse on your 12+ line about 6 inches away from the battery connection. This will protect your amp and other electronic systems.

I recomend you install the LOC as close to the source/deck as you can to limit the amount of noise that is pickec up by the loc, and then amplified. I normally just put them behind the deck where I can also get the remote(switched in your case) and the then later when you upgrade all you need to do is plug in the rca's rather then re-run them.

The wire i used was the 12 volt SWITCHED not the constant, i also put an online switch on the remote wire so i could turn the amp off even if the car was running
