Looking to change the rear speakers...
in my 14 model, but while watching a video on you tube on the removal of the door sills, he mentions one of the clips breaking on the sill. When he went to do the passenger side, the same thing happened. I also read on one of the write ups on rear speaker replacement that someone else was having the same problem on a 13. Does anyone know what (if anything ) changed and If I follow the same procedure of just pulling up on the sill, will it break with me as well?

I use something like this. I have three of the snap on ones. The straight one is good for getting up on the clip. You have to apply pressure to the clip itself and not just yank on the panel. Sometimes the clips will release from the panel, but for the most part if you pry between the clip and the body it will release without breaking. You do have to kind of pull up on the panel a bit to get the tool under there, but not too much. If it feels like it is about to break then stop, because it is. Just take your time and it will come out okay.
Also, some people just will bend the deck pa el itself and pull it out without removing the side panels. If you see in the video when he removes the c pillar trim it just sits on top of the deck panel.

Five or six of the eight clips (there are four on each side) broke when I pulled mine up. So yeah, they're really easy to break. Luckily I was pulling them up to replace them with lighted sills. You could probably just glue them back on though. Between the glued on clips and some 3M tape, they'd hold fine.
