Default trying to swap the factory rad

i have the plug & play harness. i took it out of my 92 and plugged it straight into a 1989 car. power but no sound. the 1989 car has some kind of goofy amp. is that it???? WTF

couple of questions, first are you just adding a radio... are the speakers going to remain stock? are you going to eventually amp the highs? i can walk you through getting past the amp, but pending on which way you are going, the answer is diff.
